About Therapy
I thought it might be helpful to provide some information about the forms of therapy I use most often. There is an abundance of information on the internet about these modes as well.
My main goal in my work is to offer tools and skills that work and are tailored to each client. Working together we can create an individual plan for better managing the symptoms that are interfering with your ability to fully enjoy life.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
This is one of my preferred modes of treatment. It helps with looking at the relationship between thought, feeling and behavior in response to situations.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
This is a form of therapy that has 4 main areas of focus: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance, and Emotional Regulation. The skills in this therapy model are so helpful I tend to use it with many clients.
Gottman Method Couples Therapy
This form of therapy is based on a wealth of research into what happy couples have in common. It's meant to be focused on positive experiences as well as practical skills for improving relationships.
